CMT (Congleton Musical Theatre) is a community-based amateur musical society affiliated to NODA (National Operatic and Dramatic Association).  The society produces a musical show each year, in October, at the Daneside Theatre in Congleton.

The society endeavours to achieve a professional standard of presentation.  Principal parts are awarded through open auditions.

 

We design and build our own sets in the workshop at Daneside Theatre.  Each set is tailored to get the maximum working space from our stage area and to permit us to achieve the most effective staging and lighting. We aim to have lighting and spoun to the very highest standards available to the amateur stage.

CMT has a loyal following of core members but new members, be they actors, singers, dancers or backstage staff, are always most welcome.  Members contribute at a number of levels; non-acting members assist during show week or in backstage roles and performing members commit a significant amount of time to rehearsals, as well as during show week.

The Committee (made up from elected members) manages the Society on behalf of its membership, as well as organising and co-ordinating CMT productions, it organises fund-raising activities in support of the Society.  This website and the CMT Facebook page keep members informed of planned rehearsals, events, shows and performances.  The website also reviews CMT's past activities.

The Society takes Child and Vulnerable Persons Safeguarding, Equal Opportunities and Health and Safety very seriously and has rigorous policies in place for each. We also meet the requirements of the recent GDPR legislation.
